The Bare Essentials

☐ Passport + visa (if you don’t meet the requirements for visa-free entry or transit)

☐ Printed copy of flight and hotel bookings

☐ Travel insurance (including printed copy containing your policy details)

☐ Credit card and bank card

☐ eSIM/roaming plan for China/VPN (read my Phone and Internet section)

☐ Universal travel adapter

☐ Power bank

☐ Phone charging cable

☐ Tissues or toilet paper (you’ll need these for public toilets outside of malls)

☐ Appropriate clothing - check the weather patterns for each city that you will be visiting

☐ Toiletries that you normally use

☐ Prescription medication (if any)

☐ Painkillers

☐ Relevant vaccinations (please check with your local clinic)

☐ First aid kit

☐ Mosquito repellent
