This is a personal travel guide focused on the things I consider most useful for tourists to China. I’ve visited over 40 Chinese cities to date.

A somewhat universal guide to travelling China.

I’m Chinese, educated in UK, and have been back in China since 2022.

Due to my background, I’m able to see things both from the Chinese perspective and the “rest of the world” perspective. That means I’m extremely familiar with the problems that foreign tourists commonly face.

I’m a native English speaker, and this website is written in my own words.

I don’t use AI to write content, unlike the AI slop on most of the guides you find.

I’m now the go-to person for my friends who need China travel tips.

Mission

My motivation for this website began with a purpose to provide information for family and friends.

When I moved back to China permanently, it took me a while to figure out the latest technology in modern Chinese society.

I realised it was a huge problem for visitors from abroad. Over time, I gathered a trove of unique information that I felt would improve the experience for a newbie to China.

This is different from most other websites, because I hand-write every guide based on my personal experiences. And I do actually live here so can bring you the latest information.
