38 Desserts, Pastries, Snacks You Must Try In China : Ultimate Bucket List (2026)
Introduction
This list has been created by me, a person who has worked part-time for 8 years in Chinese restaurants and takeouts in a European country. I’m from a restaurant family. 👨🏻🍳
I am back in China permanently and frequently explore new desserts, pastries, and snacks that I recommend to family and friends.
⬇️
I aim to cover some of the most popular desserts, pastries, and snacks in China, which can be easily found across most major cities.
Obviously, if you talk to someone in Beijing, they might have a totally different taste to someone in Guangzhou.
You should also be able to find many of these in any major Chinatown across the world.
⬇️
Like everything Chinese, there is a huge amount of variety in Chinese desserts and snacks. We’re talking hundreds, probably thousands of varieties.
Many of the flavours are like nothing I’ve tasted outside of China. China is a dessert and snack paradise. You will definitely find several new favourites in China!
Don’t forget to be adventurous!
