2. Towers of Vitality, Chengdu | 生机之塔
Why I find it special: Definitely looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. But it’s real and was even more impressive than I expected.

3. Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai | 东方明珠
Why I find it special: I still can’t believe it was built in 1994. If you ask me, it looks more like something from 2094. One of my favourite towers.

4. Shanghai Triplet | 上海三件套
Why I find it special: The most iconic trio in the world. My favourite is Shanghai Tower, with an elegant twist and the world’s highest observation deck, on the 121st floor.

5. Gangxia North Station, Shenzhen | 岗厦北站
Why I find it special: It’s mind-boggling that this is a metro station. The architecture is stunning. It connects 4 lines and is absolutely massive.

Why I find it special: The shape of this building bends my mind every time I look at it. It feels like it shouldn’t be scientifically possible.
