1. Deyi Shijie 得意世界 - the street with the neon signs!
Why I find it special: the vibrant neon colours are out of this world. It feels like the year 2200. I couldn’t stop staring at it!

2. Hongya Cave 洪崖洞
Why I find it special: The showpiece of Chongqing’s skyline. Big animation vibes! The lighting is unbelievable!
How to get there: Line 1/6, Xiaoshizi, Exit 9
3. The walkway on Qiansimen Bridge 千厮门大桥
Why I find it special: An iconic part of Chongqing’s skyline. You’re standing above metro tracks and can view the Yangtze River, the 3rd longest river in the world.
How to get there: Line 1/6, Xiaoshizi, Exit 9
4. Kuixinglou Building 魁星楼 - the rooftop plaza!
Why I find it special: It’s the crazy mind-bending square at the top of a building! You are simultaneously at ground level!
How to get there: Line 2, Linjiangmen, Exit 2
5. Xiahaoli 下浩里
Why I find it special: It’s a multi-level village facing the Yangtze River, next to Dongshuimen Bridge. Nice contrast from the central areas!
How to get there: Line 6/Loop Line, Shangxinjie, Exit 1
6. Hong’en Temple Pagoda 鸿恩寺
Why I find it special: Majestic architecture! It lights up spectacularly at night!
How to get there: Line 4/5, Dashiba, Exit 7B and walk for around 30 minutes or get a taxi
7. Liziba station 李子坝站
Why I find it special: A unique monorail station located in the middle of a 19-storey building. The monorail is amazing!
How to get there: Line 2, Liziba, Exit 1
8. Hongyancun station 红岩村站
Why I find it special: The deepest metro station in the world. It’s 116m below ground. As many as 8 sets of escalators down to platform level.
How to get there: Line 5/9, Hongyancun. Head up to exit 4. Exit 4 is around 48 floors higher than Exit 2.
