Best Chengdu and Sichuan Itineraries: 3 Days, 7 Days, 10 Days (2026)

This page contains my personal itineraries for Chengdu and Sichuan. I have personally tested them. Sichuan is one of my favourite provinces for travel.
If you’re mainly here for Chengdu, I recommend at least 3 days.
If you want to explore areas like Leshan Giant Buddha and Jiuzhaigou, I recommend at least 7 days.
If you want a more full-on experience of the scenery in Sichuan province, I recommend at least 10-14 days.

Day 1 - CHENGDU

Sleep in Chengdu
Day 4 - LESHAN
Take the train from Chengdu East to Leshan 👉🏻 book your train here
AM - Giant Buddha and river cruise
PM - Suji Ancient Town
Return to Chengdu by train + Sleep in Chengdu
Day 5 - JIUZHAIGOU
Take the high speed train from Chengdu East to Huanglong Jiuzhaigou station👉🏻 book your train here
+ transfer to a train to Huanglongjiuzhai station (you need to book two trains)
+ take the bus to village near scenic area entrance (Pengfeng village)
Sleep in Jiuzhaigou
Day 6 - JIUZHAIGOU
All day - Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area
Sleep in Jiuzhaigou
Day 7 - HUANGLONG
AM - Huanglong Scenic Area
PM - Take the bus back to Huanglongjiuzhai station + return to Chengdu for next destination/home

All day - Emeishan Scenic Area
